POSITION TITLE: LICENSURE SPECIALIST            REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

 

OVER-TIME STATUS: EXEMPT                                                   PAY GRADE: 219

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the licensure process for all professional level instructional staff. Assist with the development and maintenance of Human Resources programs for the school division to include: recruitment, staffing, pre-employment background checks, classification, compensation, new employee onboarding, staff training, professional development, and other related work as required.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer or Designee.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Thorough knowledge of staff certification and renewal methods, processes, and procedures; thorough knowledge of required records preparation and maintenance. Knowledge of human resources administration, including knowledge of accepted methods and practices of recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, training, testing and research techniques; thorough knowledge of principles of school division organization and administration; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with job applicants, departmental supervisors, teachers, other employees, and the general public; ability to perform a variety of difficult tasks; ability to express ideas clearly both orally and in writing.

 

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken work levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written and/or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor Degree in personnel or educational administration or related field, and extensive professional experience in public personnel management. 

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
